Assistant Town Clerk
Earby Town Council seeks to appoint an Assistant Town Clerk to carry out a wide range of administrative, organisational, communication, survey, and financial tasks in support of the Council’s services and responsibilities.

We are seeking a motivated individual, ideally with experience in local government administration or able to demonstrate transferable skills from another sector. The ability to work independently to a high standard is essential, together with a strong level of IT literacy and the ability to use digital devices, software, and the internet effectively, securely, and responsibly. The Council uses Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, QuickBooks, and a range of web applications to deliver its services. Additional training will be provided where necessary. A current driving licence is desirable for site visits and off-site meetings.
Initially, the Council wishes to appoint the successful candidate for two days per week, totalling 16 hours, at an hourly rate of between £17.85 and £19.32, depending on skills and experience and subject to annual review. An additional three hours per month will be paid for preparation for and attendance at the full Council meeting usually held on the last Monday of each month. These hours may increase subject to organisational need and mutual agreement. The post holder will be based at the address below and will be employed by the Council, subject to PAYE and associated processes and benefits.
